“Full-blown madness”: Thousands of dead fish discovered in front of the dam. There were around 10,000 animals in the Wechmar dam in Thuringia.
The reason for the deaths of the animals may be an error in the monthly water drainage. The citizens' initiative Habitat Apfelstädt still wants to take action against it. As recently as 2022, 160 tons of deadFish were floating in the Oder. Numerous animals also died after the explosion of a Berlin aquarium.
