Two victims of an attack in the center of Lyon early Sunday morning. They denounce the lack of consideration of the homophobic nature of this attack.

“A man smashed our skulls, our faces and our hands which were trying to protect them,” says victim Lucas. The suspect allegedly attacked the two men while they were kissing, near the establishment where they had spent the evening, on a barge on the Quai des Étroit in the 5th arrondissement. The Lyon public prosecutor's office indicates to Le Figaro that it has opened an investigation into violent theft, without mentioning the homophobic character of the attack. The two victims received the support of numerous associations and elected officials, from Licra to Sandrine Rousseau, while homophobic attacks are regular in the city. ‘Homophobia has no place in Lyon!’ reacted the elected environmentalist, while the deputy security officer for the city of Lyon, Mohamed Chihi, said he was “at the disposal’ of justice to “shed light on this intolerable attack”
