[HIGHLIGHTS] “I panicked and I shot”: the laborious explanations of Ilias Akoudad on his action which led to the death of police officer Éric Masson

Ilias Akoudad, who admitted the day before to having shot Éric Masson in Avignon on May 5, 2021, was questioned this Wednesday about the circumstances which led him to possess and use a weapon. He still denies knowing that the man who apprehended him was a police officer.

“If I had seen a police armband, I wouldn’t even have stopped in front of Masson. I would have fled. I don't go into contact with the police. I do everything I can to avoid attracting their attention”
