Blendecques (Pas-de-Calais) was 70% affected by exceptional flooding of the Aa river. 900 of the 2,000 houses were flooded.

Land so waterlogged that ponds formed. Cofferdams and bags were not removed from the entrance gates. Cellars are condemned. Many victims no longer live at home. Some were able to benefit from mobile homes. Others are still living with relatives or have returned home in an unhealthy atmosphere. In some homes, despite dehumidifiers, the smell is unbearable.
