Alexei Navalny died in detention in mid-February and was buried on March 1. Thousands of Russians have visited his grave to pay their respects.

His widow Yulia Navalnaïa has vowed to continue her husband's fight. She called on her supporters to gather at the polling stations on March 17, the last day of the presidential election. The team of the opponent, enemy number 1 of Vladimir Putin, accused the government of having killed him and of seeking to cover up his traces, which the Kremlin denies.
