Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Sunday that there would indeed be a ground offensive in Rafah. Announced at the beginning of February, such an assault would amount to a major escalation in the deterioration of the humanitarian situation.

“Rafah is the last refuge to which these populations were forced to evacuate: they are today bloodless, exhausted, hungry and partly sick,” recalls Claire Magone, general director of Médecins Sans Frontières. The Israeli Prime Minister warned this Sunday that “international pressure” would not prevent Israel from launching its ground offensive.
