Missak and Mélinée Manouchian, two Armenian communist resistance fighters, are preparing to enter the Pantheon. The historic event gives some comfort to the approximately 600,000 French people of Armenian origin.

“It is a real source of pride for all the grandchildren of the survivors of the 1915 genocide,” says Gérard Hovakimian, president of the Armaras Collective. The latter paid a heavy price during the executions of immigrants during the resistance.
