“Viking Heroes”, the exhibition which reveals the epic tale of Scandinavian warriors in Val-d’Oise. From Normandy to Paris, the department was a land of passage for the legendary men of the North.

“Val-d'Oise may be a recent department, but its historical borders are very marked by Viking history,” says Iris Bourdareau, deputy director of departmental museums. It is thanks to the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte that the Viking invasion is supposed to stop, and the history of Normandy begins.
