Drought has been raging for two years in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Over the last two years, only 500 mm of rain has fallen in the region.

Agroclimatologist Serge Zaka says that the rain will return. But he warns that the department will have to get used to the trend towards drying out because of climate change. He says that from 2050, it will no longer be possible to grow apricots in the Pyrenees plains.
