Mike Freer, MP for Finchley and Golders Green, was almost assassinated in 2021 by an Islamist. The 63-year-old Conservative MP announced that he would not run again in the next election at the end of the year.
Freer is not Jewish but since entering Parliament in 2010, this ardent supporter of Israel has continued to be targeted, he says. He is a great lover of this constituency in north London where the largest Jewish community in the United Kingdom resides, Freer says.
