Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy had a scheduled meeting in Japan. Lula said he was "upset" by the absence of the meeting, but said he did not understand the point of it.

Zelenskyy had sought a one-on-one meeting with Lula, who has been accused of being "soft" on Russia. Both leaders said "there were scheduling problems that deprived them of meeting"
