Two Palermo men aged 44 and 41 arrested Monday on suspicion of kidnapping a 30-year-old Canadian tourist. The woman reportedly told police she had met the older man in hospital where she had gone to see her boyfriend who had suffered a minor injury.

She got chatting and invited him to her B&B where he was "very nice" but "after a certain point I can't remember anything," she reportedly said. The man was joined by the younger man and allegedly kidnapped the tourist together, she told police. Tests in hospital reportedly confirmed she had been kidnapped. The two men were arrested in the Sicilian capital over the weekend, local sources said. They have not been charged with any crime yet, police said. The Canadian tourist is said to be in a stable condition at a local hospital. The men have not yet been charged, according to local sources. The incident is still under investigation, the police said, and no arrests have been made yet, they said.
