In addition, the financed projects are expected to save up to 40 million tons of carbon dioxide per year - this corresponds to the annual emissions of almost 9 million gasoline-powered cars. The money comes from the so-called Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, which was established by President Joe Biden's climate law, the Inflation Reduction Act.
