The trial against three farmers from the Allgäu region will begin on June 19, 2023 before the Memmingen Regional Court. The three men accused are a 67-year-old farmer and his two sons (39 and 37 years old) They are said to have violated the Animal Welfare Act and each face a prison sentence of up to three years or a heavy fine.

The trial is scheduled for six more days and the verdict could be pronounced on July 11. 19 witnesses and three experts are to be heard.
