27% of the population in Israel will suffer from obesity in 2030, compared to 24% in 2022. This is according to data presented at the Knesset's health committee discussion.

The direct and indirect expenses of the phenomenon are NIS 20 billion per year, which is about 1.4% of gross national product. The population that was most affected was a population in a low socio-economic situation. The obesity rate among ultra-Orthodox and Arabs aged 20-64 is 29% compared to 23% in the general population.
