A dispute over damage caused by a construction project may be the origin of a shooting that took place this morning in the exclusive Maryvilla urbanization in Calpe (Alicante, 26,821 inhabitants) The 112 emergency service of the Valencian Community received several calls this morning, around 9:45 a.m., warning that gunshots had been heard. When the agents of the Armed Institute and the Local Police arrived at the scene of the events, they found the body of a 32-year-old Spanish man in a house, who had several gunshot wounds.

In the adjacent property, investigators have found another body also with gunshot wounds, that of a French citizen, along with a short weapon. Everything indicates that it was the latter who first shot down his neighbor and then committed suicide. “It doesn't seem like there are anyone else involved” in the shooting, commented Pilar Bernabé, the Government delegate in the Valencians Community, who declined to give more details because at that time, the bodies were being removed.
