Lakesha Woods Williams, 29, was arrested for allegedly leaving her two young children alone for several days to go on a cruise vacation. The authorities found the minors, ages 8 and 6, in unsanitary conditions inside an apartment.
The mother had left them a camera through which she could see them and talk to them. Police found a camera in the apartment that Williams used to monitor and communicate with the children from the cruise. "These children were definitely left unattended for many days and exposed to grave danger," chief prosecutor for the 209th District Court told ABC affiliate station Houston. The children were rescued and placed in the custody of an aunt, according to court documents cited by ABC News. The woman appeared in court, where her bail was set at $25,000, KPRC 2 reported, and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, April 16..
