A mother is convicted in Michigan for buying her teenage son the gun he used in a massacre. Jennifer Crumbley was facing involuntary manslaughter for not doing enough to stop the boy from killing four teenagers from her high school.

The decision sets a historical precedent regarding the responsibility of parents for the behavior of their children in massacres like that one. Karen D. McDonald, the Oakland County prosecutor, took opportunity to teach a lesson to the parents who could not prevent their son from carrying out the massacre.
