Shawish Khaled Gamal, a senior Fatah official who was convicted of terrorist offenses, died yesterday in Nafha prison. He is the seventh security prisoner to die in prison since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War.
Since October, seven security prisoners, including judges and detainees, have died between the cells of the prison. Shavish is the most senior and the oldest of them all. The release of the security prisoners has begun: they are being transferred from Dermon prison to Ofer.
