Two people in their 30s were killed, and seven other people were injured in a fire that broke out this morning (Sunday) at a hostel in Jerusalem. The MDA team that was called to the scene gave the injured first aid and evacuated them from the scene.

In the apartment where the fire broke out, there were 6 people on the autistic spectrum. Two of the injured are 14 and 7 years old. A preliminary investigation reveals that this is a private house that was converted by an association into a hostels without updating the fire brigade and installing fire extinguishers. This is an apartment of the "Ali Shih" association, which specializes in housing, employment, and marriage, for people with disabilities. It was established about 30 years ago by Rabbi Chaim. "Ali Sheik" is supported by the Ministry of Welfare and has 25 housing complexes in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Petah Tikva. Most of the people supported by this association are from the religious sector.
