The "Transport System Bögl" has been floating on a short concrete route in Bavaria. The magnetic levitation train can reach speeds of 80 km/h.

Prime Minister Markus Söder would like to see the TSB in real operation. A feasibility study is underway for a 4.5 kilometer long route in Nuremberg from the new TU to the Südklinikum. The main problem, however, is the lack of compatibility, ie the ability to connect to every pedestrian crossing at every street level, says Andreas Rau, product manager at TSB. The TSB resembles a subway, and the dimensions are identical to any subway tunnel, says Rau. The difference is the technology: the magnetic drive technology is located in the vehicle instead of in the track. The vehicle is therefore slower than the Transrapid, which once reached over 400km/h on the test route in Emsland before testing was stopped in 2006 after accident with 23 deaths.
