The Local Police of Santa Coloma de Farners (Selva, Girona), with the help of the Generalitat Firefighters, freed a woman who lived in an apartment owned by the Agència Catalana de l'Habitatge with a social rental. She had been tied hand and foot by her roommate, whom she had taken in approximately a year ago.
The victim has been transferred to the Santa Caterina Hospital in Salt, where she remains in stable condition. On their part, the Mossos d'Esquadra have detained the suspect, and the Investigation Unit is investigating how long she had spent tied up and under what conditions the two women and the four children of the detainee shared a flat. The woman, 34 years old, of Spanish nationality and with various backgrounds, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of illegal detention, injuries, theft - because she took her cell phone and credit cards -, threats and humiliating and degrading treatment.
