A2A, 100 million for the greenest waste-to-energy plant - Finance & Business. An investment of approximately 110 million, of which 45 are intended for systems that allow a further cut in emissions.
The plant is the first district heating network in Italy, recovers electrical and thermal energy every year from approximately 720,000 tons of waste that is not otherwise recyclable. In Italy today, around 19% of waste is disposed of in landfill, a value far from the European target of 10% set for 2035.
