The branch church of St. Katharina in Thankirchen (municipality of Dietramzell) is being completely renovated.
Cracks in the walls and ceiling that can lead to static problems, a bell that is no longer allowed to ring and an insect problem are just a few of the construction sites. In 1902, a large bronze bell with the images of the five patron saints of the curacy – St. Catherine (Thankirchen), the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, St. Anna (Humbach), St. George (Rampertshofen) and St. Koloman (Bairawies) – called the faithful to worship. The missing bell replaced one made of cast iron from 1920.
