Ex-Trigema boss Grupp should file for bankruptcy in order to become even richer. High energy prices, a comparatively weak economy and the recently high inflation are causing corporate insolvencies to increase in Germany.

Around 17,400 companies in Germany filed for insolvency by the end of 2023. Compared to the previous year, this is an increase of almost 20 percent. Last year was also the second year in a row with an increasing number of corporate bankruptcies. And the IW also expects a further increase in insolvence cases in the near future due to the weak economy.
