Every year, the municipal services receive dozens of requests for amicable compensation for falls. In 2022, Paris has paid more than 2 million euros in compensation to more than 400 plaintiffs.

An equivalent amount – more than 1.5 million euros – would also have been spent on these falls last year. “A huge figure which increases every year while the budget devoted to roads has continued to decrease,” laments Maud Gatel, president of the MoDem group at the Paris Council.
