The search for six workers was suspended and they were left for dead. Two of the victims are from Guatemala and one is from Honduras.

Of the eight employees who were filling potholes on the bridge and fell into the dark waters of the Patapsco River, only two had been rescued. The Singapore-flagged Dali ship suffered a power outage after leaving the port of Baltimore and crashed into a pillar of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed in a matter of seconds. The FBI stated from the beginning that there are no indications that it was a terrorist attack.
