The driver lost control of his car for unknown reasons on Sunday afternoon on a country road near Lake Humboldt in Salzhemmendorf. The affected highway 463 was closed for around six hours due to the accident. The public prosecutor confiscated the accident car to preserve evidence. The investigation is ongoing. The officials estimated the damage at around 3,000 euros. The scene of the accident was also recorded using a special system so that a true-to-scale digital accident sketch could later be created.
