The municipality of Unterföhring has met its target of 200 percent when it comes to accepting refugees. There are 538 places available in two accommodations, more than twice as many as required.

The community would actually only have to accommodate 263 people. The mayor supports the intensive integration work of the helper group. It takes a lot of commitment, but it seems to be paying off, says Karin Lange, who works many hours on a voluntary basis to help the refugees and their helpers. She advises on applications and applications, arranges training, jobs with regular employment contracts, and language and literacy courses. “We try to accommodate everyone so that no one sits idle in the room,’ says Lange.
