Acting Major Yitzhar Hoffman, 36 years old from Ashar, was killed in the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip. Hoffman served as a platoon commander in the SDF unit.
Hoffman joins three other victims whose names were released this morning, Capt. Gavriel Shani, Sergeant Major (res.) Yuval Nir, 43 years old and Sergeant Major Netzer Simchi, 30 years old. The friends of Netzer who fell in the battles in Gaza paid tribute to him: "Netzer, Netz, it's simply unimaginable and my heart refuses to believe"
