Actress Vera Chekhova dies at the age of 83. The great-grandniece of the playwright Anton Chekhov was successful as an actress for decades.
In her decades-long film and television career, she appeared in almost 100 roles. She received the Federal Film Prize in 1962 for the Böll film adaptation “The Bread of the Early Years’.
