Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Justice Minister Yariv Levin must act immediately to establish an independent commission of inquiry. Israel has been harmed both politically-security and economically, in a way that it is highly doubtful whether there is a way to recover from it in the foreseeable future.

The failure and malice in this affair caused damage to national security, the scope of which is still difficult to assess. In a civilized country, many of those involved would have already been interrogated under warning and perhaps even prosecuted, rather than sitting in sleepy Knesset debates.
