A few years ago, the explosive ordnance disposal service had to defuse an unexploded bomb that had been lying dormant there for decades until it was recovered. The railway bridges towards Rosenheim were repeatedly the target of Allied air raids during the Second World War. Grafing train station was also bombed. There are eyewitnesses who found war relics in the area or at least immediately adjacent to it.
