After a long struggle within the traffic light coalition: the Bundestag is voting on the 2024 budget today. In total, expenditure of 476.8 billion euros is planned for the current year.
For the time being, new loans should only be taken out for around 39 billion euros. Discussions are already underway for the 2025 budget - and they are unlikely to be easy either. There is once again a gap in the core budget alone in the double-digit billion range. The SPD, the Greens and the FDP also agreed on a budget financing law.
