A cycle path is being built on federal highway 23 in Unterammergau between the commercial area and the railway crossing. Drivers will likely have to prepare for disruptions for four to six weeks.

An existing footpath over a length of around 200 meters will be converted into an asphalt cycle path. The construction is financed by the federal government, which is represented by the Weilheim State Building Authority. The cycle path should actually have been built last year. But the project was delayed. A start in 2023 was no longer effective shortly before winter. “So we said, let’s postpone it until spring,” explains the town hall boss, Robert Stumpfecker (FUZ) The construction site will be set up during the morning. Drivers then have to be prepared for obstructions on the B23. The federal highway will be narrowed for the construction work. Instead of nine meters, drivers have a lane that is six meters wide. The speed is reduced to 30 kilometers per hour.
