Sky the cat escaped from his home in Paterzell almost twelve years ago. He was found in Hohenpeißenberg by a couple who were unable to take him into their home because they had their own cat.
Heidi Rothwinkler, operator of an animal rescue station, agreed that Sky could spend the rest of his life with her. The cat, which used to be very matted, can now “groom itself properly again” and gets along well with the other animals in the rescue center.. For the almost 18-year-old cat, she is “his caregiver, his savior.” Sky was found to have a chip and was also registered with the Tasso animal registration system. His owners in Munich were found, but they couldn't believe at first that their pet had reappeared. However, due to a dog in the household, he could not stay with them permanently. Both the former owners from Munich have already visited Sky in its new home.
