Brussels proposes new measures to limit imports from Ukraine. The European Commission wants in particular to renew the exemption from customs duties enjoyed by agricultural products entering European soil.

For certain products - poultry, eggs and sugar - an "emergency brake" is planned to "stabilize" imports at average volumes imported in 2022 and 2023 - levels beyond which customs duties would be reimposed, indicated the European executive. The EU Commission proposed on Wednesday to renew from June the exemption  from customs duties.
