A bipedal robot that plays soccer. It kicks with an effectiveness of 70 percent.

The robot learned not only to kick and block balls, but also to anticipate its opponent's movement and prevent him from making dangerous shots. Although he was not without falls, he recovered in less than 3 seconds and scored goals on 70 percent of his shots on goal, with kicks that gave the ball an average speed of 2 meters per second. The program was first tested in a computer simulation, without having to be implemented on hardware that could be damaged by any possible error.
