The US military delivered to Ukraine small arms and munitions originally sent by Iran to Yemen's Houthi rebels. The shipment to kyiv, which is short of ammunition in its war against Russia, includes more than 5,000 AK-47 assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers and more than 500,000 rifle cartridges.
“Iran’s support for armed groups threatens international and regional security, our forces, our diplomatic personnel and the citizens of the region, as well as those of our partners. We will continue to do everything in our power to shed light and put an end to Iran's destabilizing activities,” adds the U.S. Military Command for the Middle East (Centcom), in a press release on X (formerly Twitter) “US CENTCOM is committed to working with (its) allies and partners to counter the flow of lethal Iranian aid into the region by all legal means, including US and UN sanctions and bans,’ adds Centcom.
