Alberto Fernández has already started the process of retiring as former president. He plans to return to Argentina before the end of the month and collect the honorary pension.
The former president would earn about 7 million pesos per month. Opposition leaders are determined that he will not be able to collect an ex-gratia pension. But the Attorney General's Office argues that he needs this benefit to justify the possible collection of his personal company, “Live Dream Argentina’.
