PFAS pollution was detected in the municipality of Semoy (Loiret). Residents were connected to the Orléans network, which is pollution-free.

PFAS are a large family of chemical compounds that degrade very little. Widely used in many industrial applications for their adhesive and waterproofing properties. They are found in many everyday products, from frying pans and saucepans to cosmetics, food packaging, and paints. The local authorities have also requested that an investigation be opened into the origin of this pollution. They also announced their intention to file a complaint against X. French water company Veolia has closed the catchment and connected residents to the network which is pollution-free in Semoy. The Regional Health Agency (ARS) assured in March that this pollution "did not present a proven risk to the health of the population." But the metropolis of Orléan preferred to play it safe. The maximum level of 1 microgram per liter provided for by the regulations had been exceeded on two occasions.
