The government has decided not to renew 500 National Radio contracts, says Javier Milei, the president of Radio and Television Argentina (RTA), who was in charge when the contracts were not renewed at the beginning of the year. The new director, Héctor Cavallero, was shown with some new members of the state station when they signed their contracts. The station fired 100 journalists, producers and administrators at the end of last February, says María Eugenia Vidal, the director of Radio RTA and the former head of Radio Rivadavia, in a move that shocked the media world.
