The Human Rights Campaign joined other civil rights groups in denouncing how recent laws signed by the state's governor, Ron DeSantis, put gay travelers, immigrants and other minorities at risk. More than 137.5 million tourists visited Florida last year, surpassing pre-pandemic figures, according to Visit Florida, state's tourism promotion agency. The group said it was not calling for a boycott or making direct recommendations not to visit Florida.
