U.S. regulation that allowed immediate deportation of migrants will expire.

The U.S has used this regulation 2.8 million times since it was introduced during the COVID-2 pandemic. Even before the regulation expires, smugglers spread false messages about "opening borders," and pressure on the borders increased. About 1,000 immigration officers and thousands of National Guard soldiers have been reinforced to the border. The deeper reason for the increase in migration is the economic decline in many Latin American countries, in part from Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
