Amos Gital's new film ‘Shikun’ evokes the war between the Hebrew state and Hamas. Inspired by the play by Eugène Ionesco, the film tells the story of the emergence of intolerance and totalitarian thinking.

In this hybrid group of people of different origins and languages, some transform into rhinoceroses, others resist. Is this a metaphor for our contemporary societies? Gital: “It may seem unimaginable today, but after the war, we will have to help the Palestinians rebuild”
