Algerian journalist Farid Alilat claims to have been turned away at Algiers airport. He says he was questioned in particular about his articles.

The Algerian authorities have made no comment on the claims by the journalist, established in France since 2004. The journalist, who has a residence permit in France, nevertheless traveled to Algeria three times during 2023 as part of his work, he says. He has never been the subject of the slightest questioning from any authority, he adds.
