amphibian discovered that takes care of its eggs and suckles its young. The species lives under cocoa plantations and secretes a whitish substance rich in fats and sugars similar to mammalian milk.

The offspring of S. annulatus grow up to 135% in their first week out of the egg. After laying the eggs, these caecilians take care of them until they hatch. During this time they go from a lead blue to a gray gray. It is the'milk' with which they feed for two months.
