Natalia Contini was elected mayor of the Cordovan town of Anisacate. She will remove the statue of Néstor Kirchner that her predecessor placed in 2011.
In its place she will put one of the doctor René Favaloro. The statue of the former president had been erected by Ramón Salazar, who was mayor of town since 1999 and supported one of Contini's main opponents, Matías Cuello. "We are not going to repeat what happened to us as neighbors if we were not consulted," he said.
