French director Justine Triet's Anatomy of a Fall has won the best international film prize at the David di Donatello awards, Italy's Oscars. The domestic drama about a woman, played by German actress Sandra Hüller, being put on trial after her fellow writer and husband falls to his death at their home in the mountains.

It beat four rivals including As Bestas by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Kuolleet Lehdet (Leavs in the Wind) by Aki Kaurismaki, Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese, and Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan. The award will be handed out on May 3, organizers said. The award was given out by the Italian Academy of Film and Television, the country's version of the Academy Awards.
