Minister of Intelligence Gila Gamaliel revealed a picture to the Minister of Science and Innovation instead of Minister Ofir Akunis, who was appointed to be Consul General in New York. The Ministry of Intelligence was first established in 2009 for former minister Dan Meridor, but the ministry never received real powers over the intelligence bodies in Israel that are subordinate to the IDF and the Prime Minister.
According to the decision-makers' proposal that was forwarded to the ministers for consideration, the Ministry of intelligence will be abolished altogether.
